Do You Start Up My Vehicle?
We do not recommend vehicle start ups during storage due to the increase association of engine wear. This occurs during the first few minutes of starting a vehicle because the oil has not fully circulated and the engine is running dry. Also, the engine will probably not get hot enough to burn off moisture, acids, etc, that it creates while running for a short time. This will only contaminate your fresh oils that you just put in. Vehicle start ups are available upon our clients request.
What Kind of Battery Tender Do You Use?
Each vehicle is quipped with a CTEK smart battery trickle charger. Using a unique charge algorithm, CTEK Smarter Battery Chargers go through 8 steps to constantly read and communicate with your battery, charging only to its direct needs and therefore avoiding any possibility of incorrectly charging the battery. Furthermore, by ensuring the battery is conditioned as well as charged, your batteries last significantly longer. Moreover, each CTEK Smart Battery Charger regulates mains voltage to protect any sensitive electrical and hi-fi equipment. Now that's smart!
What Kind of Temperature Is My Vehicle Stored In?
Our facility is equipped with both natural gas radiant heat and heat pump heating & air conditioning to maintain a consistent ambient temperature.
During the cooler fall and winter months our facility is kept at a minimum of 12 degrees Celsius (54 F). When the weather beings to warm our facility is then kept at approx 23 degress Celsius (73 F).
Are Car Covers Included with a Package?
Car covers, although recommended, are not required when storing your vehicle at the Black Dog Garage.
We do not supply car covers for vehicles being stored. We install only customer supplied covers with our annual and winter packages.
Is Your Location Open to the Public?
We are not open to the public, strictly for security and privacy purposes. Only clients who's vehicle(s) are being stored at our facility may enter the office premises by appointment only. There is no access to the vehicle storage.
Can I Access My Vehicle?
Yes! We require a min 24 hours notice for those vehicles stored annually, and min 48 hours notice for those vehicles stored short term. Please call our office to make the necessary arrangements.
